The VXR10 requires a 3.5mm mic input and plug-in power. Smartphones need a Lightning-to-3.5mm or USB-C-to-3.5mm adapter, and some cameras—such as Canon Rebel T6/T7 and certain Canon VIXIA camcorders—do not support external mics. Be sure you’re using the correct TRS/TRRS cable for your device. For best audio, position the mic 1–5 ft from your subject; being too close can cause distortion and too far can result in muffled sound. Ensure the microphone is unplugged from your smartphone so you can hear playback audio.
